June 18, 2020 - Dunn County Supervisory Board Votes; Speedway Remains Closed
Tonight the Dunn County Supervisory Board voted to keep the Red Cedar Speedway closed for the 2020 season due to the affects of COVID-19. Our hope and goal was that we would be able to open starting June 19 for the remainder of our 2020 schedule. Due to the fear of COVID-19, the decision was made to not allow us to race even under very restrictive guidelines offered by the RCRA.

This news is very disappointing, frustrating, sad and unsettling as we put many hours in to come up with a plan to be able to join the many area tracks in offering racing to our teams, fans, sponsors and businesses that support us. We are lucky to have great fans, loyal race teams, awesome sponsors and the support businesses give us each year for the past 47 years.

We plan to “appeal” and try to work out a different plan to try to race yet this season. We promise to fight to salvage some sort of a season. Because of the loyalty to RCS no matter the result of 2020 as it relates to racing at the RCS we will be back in 2021 if that is the end result.

Wissota has assured us that if we don’t get to open in 2020 that in 2021 we will be awarded our Friday night Wissota sanctioning and that the historic Punky Manor will be restored to its yearly scheduled date during invitational season.

On behalf of the RCRA we want to sincerely thank all of you who took the time to “get our voice heard”, it was loud and very helpful. We will keep you posted on any upcoming progress as it relates to this season as well as upcoming scheduled events related to 2021. Stay proud, stay strong, stay safe and good luck racing the rest of the season.

June 4, 2020 - Race Fans, Red Cedar Speedway NEEDS YOUR HELP
If you want to race/attend races in Menomonie this year, we need YOU to reach out to Dunn County officials. Please express how important the speedway and local racing is to you and/or your family, friends, business, etc. and how you’ll be able to follow safe guidelines and social distancing at the track.

On June 9th, RCS will meet with the Dunn County Facility Board to discuss opening the speedway. If in favor, it will go to the Dunn County Executive Board that meets on June 10th. If in favor from that board, on June 17th the Dunn County Board of Supervisors (all 29 Districts) will meet and make a decision. The time is now to get our voice heard by our county officials, that will ultimately make a final decision to allow us to race in 2020.

Please remember to be respectful when reaching out to these individuals. Red Cedar Speedway and Dunn County officials work together to negotiate contracts between Dunn County and our speedway.
By creating a dialogue between the racing community and county officials we can show our compassion and express the critical role our business plays in the health of the local economy. <Read More>

May 20, 2020 - Red Cedar Speedway to Remain Closed Through June 15
Members of the Red Cedar Race Association along with Dunn County Administration met early this week in reference to kicking off our 2020 race season in a safe and healthy manner.

RCRA presented many options on how we felt we could safely get started. Though many strong options were presented much concern was still raised by administration in regards to large crowds at a venue during this time, with the threat of COVID-19 still around.

With that Dunn County officials feel its best to hold off on starting up our 2020 season at this time. All scheduled events from now until June 15th have been canceled.

Dunn County Administration and the RCRA will meet again on June 15th after more time has past and more data is collected, to discuss how we can safely start our 2020 season.
Stay Safe everyone! We miss you and hope to see you soon! Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

April 27, 2020 - Red Cedar Speedway Season Update
Currently the Dunn County Rec Park and the Red Cedar Speedway remain closed. Our Association is working to open as soon as possible.

When we have an official date of the 2020 season opener, we will update our Facebook page and the website.

We appreciate everyone's support during this difficult time!

March 23, 2020 - Season Opener Postponed to April 17
The Red Cedar Racing Association (RCRA) would like to update our racers, fans, supporters and employees, that due to the COVID-19 virus, the restrictions of crowd gathering, and the mandate of closed facilities that we are cancelling our scheduled opener date of Friday April 10.

At this time we are not allowed on the speedway grounds until at least April 6th, leaving very little prep time getting all facility operations ready and as community partners, we want to do our part to keep everyone safe.

As we move forward, we will be in constant communication with our landlords and follow all mandated announcements concerning when we can logistically begin our 2020 racing season.

As of now, April 17th will be our new opener date for the 2020 Season Opener Randy Buss Icebreaker Classic. Stay tuned for further news concerning the RCS and please be cautious and stay healthy.

**2020 Race Season Announcement**

The RCRA board has voted to discontinue the weekly running of the Pure Stock class at Red Cedar Speedway. At the October 7, 2019 RCRA board meeting, a motion was voted on to “discontinue offering the Pure Stock class part of the regular weekly race program.”

On behalf of the RCRA, we thank all of the dedicated weekly drivers that choose to spend their Friday nights at Red Cedar Speedway and we are hopeful that most, if not all, of the Pure Stock drivers will continue to race at Red Cedar Speedway by means of moving into a different weekly division.

The last three years, the Pure Stock division has had the lowest car count at our track. We tried to increase the number of Pure Stocks by sanctioning them with Wissota in 2017, however car counts continued to decline. This past season we averaged 7 Pure Stocks for our weekly shows.

By making this announcement early on in the off-season, we aspire it will allow Pure Stock race teams to evaluate their choices for their 2020 race program, and we hope that means racing at Red Cedar Speedway.

The RCRA board is constantly evaluating how to more efficiently move our weekly programs along to make the most out of Friday nights for drivers and fans. We hope that by running 6 weekly classes versus 7, that we will be able to; get all nightly features in before curfew, have no need to cut laps due to time restraints, be able to prep track surface if needed and ultimately get the show done in a timely manner so families and fans can come visit in the pits after the races, all the while getting home at a decent time.

Again, the RCRA board would like to thank all the Pure Stock drivers, families, race teams, fans and sponsors, for racing with us at the Red Cedar Speedway throughout the previous years and we hope that you will continue to attend events here in the future. Thank you for understanding.
